I want to apologize for the confusion with my last post. I was being sarcastic when I said I was off to a good start, because Arizona beat BYU and I had chosen the Cougs. So I was poking fun at my unlucky fortune there. But apparently it didnt transfer over well to words.
But the [...]

My friends have nicked-named me “Raju East Coast Bias” because I picked every Pac-10 team to lose its bowl game except the Beavers, who by the way I orginally picked to fall to Pitt until I learned running back Jeremy Francis returned to the team.
I am off to a great start so far, with Arizona [...]

By now most of you have seen the Pac-10 Preason Poll, the one that has USC favored to finish first, Washington State to finish last and Oregon State to finish sixth. Certainly can’t argue with USC being picked to win the Pac-10, that was a no brainer. And while I don’t think WSU will find [...]

In a sure sign that I am climbing the journalism ladder, I covered the Corvallis 11-12 Nationals run to the District 7 Championship on Monday and Tuesday nights at the Crystal Lake Sports complex. (I’m probably going to get complaints from the local high schools, now that they’ve found out I’m leaving them for Little [...]

There’s no question about it, journalism is a tough business to be in these days. The pay has never been great, the late nights can be brutal on the sleep pattern and social life, and the excitement of traveling to new venues is dying because papers have cut back on expenses.

First things first. Sorry for the long delay in blog entries. As many of you know, I lost a sister back in December in car accident, so I have been a little out of it the past few months. Still am in some ways. But I want to thank you for all your kind thoughts [...]

I took in the OSU/Tennessee Tech game last Sunday. While I expected OSU to win, my main reason for going was to see CJ Giles and Omari Johnson in action. Needless to say the Beavers stunk up Gill and I left early. Watching bad basketball is as painful as seeing Britney Spear’s downfall, as well [...]

Watching the UO/UCLA game and one thing is painfully obvious. Dennis Dixon was the Oregon offense. I can see why the majority of my coworkers would vote for him in the Heisman race if he wasn’t injured. The Ducks look lost without him. It doesn’t help that UO is on their fourth QB right now. [...]

Went to the Beavers exhibition game today against Western Washington. I’ll be quick with my observations because I don’t want to step on Mr. Hatch’s toes.
The Beavers are more athletic this season, especially on the defensive end of the floor. The Tarver brothers disrupted the passing lanes often and got several steals apiece. The pair [...]

Oregon State rebounded from its crushing loss to UCLA two weeks ago, by crushing Arizona last week. It was arguably the Beavers’ most complete game of the season. The defense was flying around all game and showed that it’s for real.
And while OSU’s linebackers get most of the hype, it must be noted that [...]
